Veronica Turner, Community  Coordinator

Veronica Turner is a Dallas native who graduated as Valedictorian of her senior class from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School and continued her academic studies with a full scholarship to Texas Women’s University where she focused on educational structures in minority communities. Through a wide array of experiences, which included studying abroad in France, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 2005 in Government with Special Emphasis in Legal Studies. Shortly after, she continued her educational pursuits in Public Administration from the Barbara Jordan Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University where she graduated in August 2010.

Veronica’s passion to work with female youth is what further invigorated her connections to V-STAR. Being a critical component to the organization since its inception, she serves as the Communications Coordinator in which she establishes and maintains communication with various V-STAR affiliates and manages all technological operations for the organization. Her demonstrative perseverance, leadership, and discipline continue to prove her to be a viable character in the V-STAR movement of changing the lives of young girls, one at a time.

April Matthews graduated from University of Houston in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Marketing. She moved to Houston from Grapevine, TX- a suburb of Dallas/Ft. Worth. April began dancing in elementary school as part of an after school program. She attended Colleyville Heritage High School in Colleyville, TX, where she was a member of the Premier Panteras Varsity Dance Team for 3 years.
